Decolonising Mitramas

Celebrating “Christmas” has become a global phenomenon in which many descendants of the first nations joyfully participate. Some instinctively participate wanting to add their own happiness to that of Christians, others bow to peer group pressure and others just get steam rollered by the global commercial juggernaut that is the Xmas industry.

The knowledge that even the birth of Christianity is rooted in the colonising of the ancient widely established celebration of MitraMas, surely requires a moment of mead inspired reflection as to the validity of the other “truth claims”. The fruits of reflection may further reveal the willingness of Church fathers to ignore the fact of the birth of Christ being a late spring event, in their cuckoo like zeal to occupy an otherwise happily occupied nest of a pagan festival.

Pankaj Saxena writes:

“On this Happy Day of Love, let me share with you this message of love from a Christian priest who wrote the following account after witnessing a mass massacre of devil worshipping pagans like us by love-spreading Christians. The account is that of Peru.”

“[The Spaniards] took babies from their mothers’ breasts, grabbing them by the feet and smashing their heads against rocks. . . . They built a long gibbet, low enough for the toes to touch the ground and prevent strangling, and hanged thirteen [natives] at a time in honor of Christ Our Saviour and the twelve Apostles. . . . Then, straw was wrapped around their torn bodies and they were burned alive.”

As First Nations’ people around the world raise their downcast vision and summon the strength to look the Colonialists and their institutions of human domination “in the eye”, there will be a call to justice, a recognition of global crimes but most of all there will be a rejection of the falsehoods used to establish, proliferate and perpetuate White Christianist supremacy on the intellectual, emotional and physical levels.

The ancient Rig Veda of the Hindus contains a mantra which I believe will become the clarion call of the 21st century decolonising World.. as non white societies get up off their knees and continue to cast off the physical, mental and intellectual shackles of Colonial domination.

As more and more Europeans become aware that the accounts of history, of morality, of religion which have been forcefully and deceitfully drummed into them since childhood, by the relatively tiny WADE (White and Dominant Ethnicity – the famous 1%), are masterful techniques of brainwashing and emotionally binding manipulation, more and more will seek refuge, strength and guidance from this ancient 3 line mantra.

“Aum Asato maa sat gamaya,
Tamaso maa jyotir gamaya,
Mritur maa amritam gamaya, Aum”

Aum
From the unreal untrue, towards the Real the True, advance me,
From the heavy darkness of unknowing, towards the radiance of pure Knowledge, move me
From the state of Deathfulness, towards the absence of Death, propel me.
Aum.

Without knowing why we do the things we do, their history and purpose, our minds remain ensnared and enslaved in confusion.
Without removing the fog of darkclouded thinking, of habit based autoresponses, the healing radiance of clear vision eludes us,
Without the above, the ever increasing number of economically, politically and religiously engineered deaths of our human and animal brothers and sisters will not diminish, only increase.

Famine, pestilince and plague have become the new weapons of those tragic, broken, emotionally crippled people who need others to suffer, to ensure their own deluded sense of self worth, who need to steal the cultural and spiritual outpourings of humble loving indigenous humanity in order to fill the emptiness at the centre of their own being, who need to create external gilded citadels to their own glorious ahamkara, whilst internally cursing the simple native whose heart sings the glory of She who created the citadel of the very planet itself.

We are creatures whose minds thrive on knowing Truth, whose hearts prosper on sharing Love, whose bodies glow on being of service to all of life.

This Christmas may your table be filled with morsels of Truth, may guests seated at your Table be Truth, Justice, Humility and Equality, and may your desserts be Repentance, Restitution and Reparation, all sipped with the wine of our shared humanity.

Merry Christmas from @thebritishhindu.
Aum.

Distressing to say the least. May the truth of this barbaric religion be known to every human being
